Ronaldo's Al-Nassr lose to Al-Hilal in King's Cup final

Having posted a new single-season best for the Saudi Pro League, after registering 35 goals in that competition, Ronaldo was poised to cap his first full campaign with a title.

Unfortunately, Aleksander Mitrovic fired Hilal into the lead after just seven minutes with a trademark header, per ESPN.

Cristiano himself came close on a couple of occasions but was thwarted by the impressive Yaccine Bounou.

While the five-time Ballon d'Or winner failed to find the back of the net, it was Saudi international Ayman Yahya, who pulled Luis Castro's men level with three minutes left.

With no goals to separate the two sides in a tense finale, the game went into post-match penalty shootouts, with the Blues Waves winning the battle of wills, Sportstar reports.

After the game, CR7 was left in an emotional state; failing to hold back his tears, the 39-year-old broke down as he was consoled by teammates and the technical staff of Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo nearly scores stunning bicycle kick goal

In an earlier publication, Sports Brief reported that Cristiano Ronaldo nearly scored an inch-perfect bicycle kick in the Saudi King’s Cup final.

Despite enduring another disappointing season with Al-Nassr, who lost to their rivals Al-Hilal on penalties, the 39-year-old showcased his skill.

Ronaldo connected with a superb cross, executing a powerful bicycle kick that beat the goalkeeper but, unfortunately, struck the post.
