The news follows the recent announcement that the 61-year-old will join TNT Sports on Saturday, June 1, to cover the Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, per Mundo Deportivo.

Mourinho steps in after Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish Super Lig for the third consecutive year.

Although earlier reports linked him to the newly promoted Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah, it now seems that Turkey will be his next destination.

Analysing Mourinho's last 3 coaching jobs

As Jose Mourinho prepares for his 11th managerial role, Sports Brief examines his last three coaching jobs.

The enigmatic tactician is set to return to the dugout just five months after being sacked by AS Roma.

Manchester United: 2016 to 2018

Jose Mourinho spent two and a half years as Manchester United manager, securing the Carabao Cup, Europa League, and Community Shield.

While he enjoyed a strong start at Old Trafford, his second season didn't match the initial success, although he achieved a second-place finish behind Pep Guardiola's Manchester City—a feat he considers one of his greatest achievements.

However, the 2018–19 season began poorly, with just seven wins in the first 17 Premier League games, leaving United 19 points behind the league leaders.

Consequently, Mourinho was sacked on December 18, 2018.

He recently suggested that if the club's hierarchy had shown him the same support they now give to current manager Erik ten Hag, he could have achieved greater success at United.

Tottenham Hotspur: 2019 to 2021

Mourinho is a proven winner, boasting trophy triumphs at nearly every club he has managed. However, Tottenham stands as the sole blemish on his otherwise stellar resume.

The Portuguese manager took over from Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019 and led Spurs to a sixth-place finish in the 2019–20 Premier League season.

In the following campaign, Jose guided Tottenham to the League Cup final, only to be dismissed less than a week before the match, according to GOAL.

Similar to his tenure at United, the "Special One" departed North London under acrimonious circumstances, managing just two points from his last three league games and facing elimination from the Europa League.

AS Roma: 2021 to 2024

After his tumultuous spell with Tottenham, Mourinho joined Roma in 2021.

A year later, he led the team to the Europa Conference League title, making him the first manager to win a major European competition with four clubs.

He also became the third manager to win all three main UEFA club competitions, following Giovanni Trapattoni and Udo Lattek.

The veteran manager then guided Roma to the Europa League final in the 2022–23 season, where they were defeated by Sevilla on penalties.

Reflecting on his tenure in the Italian capital, the 61-year-old described leading Roma to two consecutive European finals as the most challenging experience of his career, per Football Italia.

Mourinho makes Euro 2024 prediction

In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Jose Mourinho has weighed in on the upcoming European Championships and identified three nations as the strongest contenders.

The yet-to-be-named Fenerbahce manager included Portugal, France, and England on his shortlist while omitting Germany from his list.

However, he also acknowledged the potential for an underdog to surprise at the tournament.
