As reported by The Nations, he stated, "Finidi is a great coach. I was with him in Morocco during the friendly matches, which was quite difficult for him because he was all alone.
Now that he has his full team of assistants, we will see the best of him with the support of all Nigerians and the football federation."
The combative midfielder’s sentiments resonate with many players who closely collaborated with Finidi during his brief stint as interim manager.
Additionally, the former Genk star highlighted his successful return to full fitness following a prolonged injury layoff that sidelined him during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast.
Finidi is saddled with leading the Nigerian team to secure their first victory in 90 minutes since 2019 against South Africa in Uyo before travelling to Abidjan to face Benin Republic three days later in another make-or-break fixture.
