Real saw off Bayern Munich in the semis to set up a crunch date with Dortmund, who beat Paris Saint-Germain in the other semi-final.

Speaking ahead of the final, Mbappe was asked which of the two sides he would back to be crowned European champions.

The Frenchman answered via Fabrizio Romano:

“I’ll just watch, I love football."

Could Mbappe join Real Madrid?

Mbappe's vague answer came at a time when he has widely been linked with a sensational summer move to Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old is currently without a club following his PSG departure at the end of last season.

The France international recently confirmed he would quit the French giants upon the expiry of his contract this summer.

According to Goal, Real remain the firm favourites to sign the former Monaco star.

The La Liga giants have long been chasing the forward, with a move to the Spanish capital now said to be imminent.

While Mbappe is contracted at Parc des Princess until June 30, Los Blancos are said to be keen to unveil him before then.

The only Italian club Mbappe can play for

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported on Mbappe naming the only Italian club he could play for if he were to play in Serie A.

Whereas Real Madrid are the frontrunners for his services, the forward has teased a move to the Italian top flight, conceding that anything is possible.

Speaking recently, the French Ligue 1 Golden Boot winner disclosed that AC Milan are the only club he can turn out for in the division.
