Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has reportedly made a decision on his future at the club.

Partey has been the subject of transfer speculation, with reports claiming that the Gunners are open to selling him before the start of next season.

According to Metro UK, the north Londoners are keen to bring in a new midfielder who can help Declan Rice play in a more advanced role.

While Partey is best suited to play this role, his injury record is a cause for concern.

The Ghana international hardly featured for Mikel Arteta's side as they came close to winning the Premier League title once again.

The former Atletico Madrid star started just nine games during the just-concluded campaign, and injuries kept him sidelined.

Partey makes decision on Arsenal future

Despite his situation at the Emirates Stadium, the Ghanaian is said to be keen to continue at the club beyond this season.

The 30-year-old is believed to be keen to see out the final year of his contract at the club.

Interestingly, it is reported that Arsenal have not entered discussions with Partey over a contract extension.

Football London claims that Newcastle United ace Bruno Guimares remains top on the Gunners' transfer wishlist for the central midfield role.

Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi has also been linked with a possible move, and Arteta is adamant about strengthening his midfield options.

Meanwhile, Partey has since been recalled to the Ghana squad ahead of their World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June.

Partey named Ghana captain

In other news, Sports Brief also reported that Ghana head coach Otto Addo has named Partey captain of the Black Stars for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Addo named his 26-man squad for the two games on Wednesday, May 29, excluding captain Andre Ayew and his deputy Richard Ofori.

Partey is returning to the Ghana squad for the first time since October 2023.
