Legendary Real Madrid defender, Marcelo Vieira da Silva Junior, has made a bold prediction ahead of the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, June 1.

Los Blancos secured their spot in a record 18th UCL final by overcoming Bayern Munich in a tense semi-final, while Dortmund booked their place in the grand finale by overcoming Paris Saint-Germain over two legs.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are the clear favourites to maintain their unbeaten streak in the finals.

According to The Guardian, Madrid's last defeat in a European final came against Liverpool in the 1980–81 season.

With the odds heavily in favour of the Spanish champions, Dortmund will draw inspiration from their unexpected victory over Juventus in 1997, when they won their first and only Champions League trophy.

However, their most recent final appearance ended in a narrow defeat to Bayern Munich in 2013.

Marcelo predicts goal-scorers, scoreline of UCL final

Ahead of the highly anticipated match, Marcelo, who boasts an impressive five titles, has boldly predicted the eventual champions of Europe, going as far as naming the goal-scorers and suggesting Madrid will secure victory by a significant margin.

"UCL final? I want a calm 3-0 win. Goals from [Toni] Kroos, [Luka] Modric, and Vini [Vinicius Junior]," the Brazilian defender predicted, as cited by MadridXtra.

Dortmund coach warns Madrid ahead of final

Meanwhile, Edin Terzic, Dortmund's manager, has issued a caution to Real Madrid ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.

As Sports Brief also previously reported, he warned that their winning streak in the finals might be in jeopardy on Saturday.

Terzic stated that the time was right for Real Madrid's Champions League streak, eight wins from eight finals, to come to an end.

How Dortmund can stop Real Madrid

Sports Brief also previously repoted on RB Leipzig's Yussuf Poulsen providing insights on how Borussia Dortmund can upset Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

The forward advised the German side to use strategic approaches to counter the Los Blancos attack, emphasising the significance of utilising efficiency in their gameplay.
