Two Nigerian stars, Paul Onuachu and Bright Osayi-Samuel, have been named in the Turkish Süper Lig's Team of the Season following the conclusion of the 2022-23 campaign.
Onuachu, a Southampton loanee, made a significant impact for Trabzonspor, helping the club finish third in the league.
The 29-year-old striker found the back of the net an impressive 15 times in just 21 appearances, making him the joint-highest scorer for the Black Sea Storm in the last four seasons.
With a rating of 7.43, Onuachu was the second-highest-rated player in the league, trailing only Mauro Icardi, who finished as the top scorer, per WhoScored.

The Fenerbahçe right-back, Osayi-Samuel, played a pivotal role in his team's success, featuring in 23 games throughout the season and starting all but two matches. The 26-year-old Nigerian international scored four goals and provided two assists, the most he has registered for the Yellow Canaries, earning a rating of 6.90.
Interestingly, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, the league's top two teams, each have five representatives in the prestigious side, while Trabzonspor, where Onuachu plies his trade, had one player selected.
Osayi-Samuel's inclusion in the team has also been celebrated for his brave actions during a recent league match against Trabzonspor. As reported by Punch Nigeria, he stood his ground and fought off a fan who approached him with what appeared to be a weapon moments after the final whistle.
