United booked a place in the final of the tournament after seeing off Coventry in the semis, with City qualifying after beating Chelsea.

Having recently secured the Premier League title, the Citizens were keen to complete the double, with the Red Devils aiming for victory to be guaranteed European football next season.

Erik ten Hag's charges eventually came out on top, with youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho firing United to victory.

Arsenal called out for aiming dig at Man United

According to Metro UK, Arsenal appeared to aim a subtle dig at Manchester United shortly after their FA Cup triumph.

In a post shared shortly after the match, the Gunners, who finished second in the league, boasted that they remain the team to have won the FA Cup the most times.

"We have a legacy in the FA Cup like no other team, having lifted the trophy a record 14 times," Arsenal tweeted.

However, the tweet did not go down well with thousands of fans, who called out the north Londoners for the 'embarrassing' post.

@ez89o9 joked:

"Congrats to Arsenal for winning the "we have lifted the fa cup 14times" trophy this season."

@holardamolar added:

"Shameless club."

@Darealmayabanks sarcastically posted:

"Great timing Admin 👏🏽👏🏽."

@MeePlusYou concluded:

"If shameless was a football club😂😂"

Rashford in tears after FA Cup triumph

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Marcus Rashford couldn't hold back his tears after playing a crucial role in his team's FA Cup triumph on Saturday, May 25.

The English forward, who has endured a difficult 2023–24 season and missed out on England's provisional squad for the 2024 Euros, helped the Red Devils defeat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
