Neil Maupay taunts Salah
Salah’s post attracted the attention of Everton striker Neil Maupay, who could not help himself as he bantered the Egyptian superstar.
Maupay, known for his vocal ways on social media, appeared to suggest Salah had a striking resemblance to him with the new hairdo.
The Frenchman wrote on social media, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Welcome to the slap head club brother."
A closer look at Salah’s new hairdo revealed a slight resemblance to Maupay, as both players have stubbled beards and short hair.
Here are some responses from fans after Maupay's slice of banter:
"You’ve been trying to imitate a premier league striker for five years."
"Neil Maupay still pocketing Kopites."
"He’s the biggest troll in the Epl & I love it for him."
"You show quit football geng and focus on your influencing career."
Maupay’s past controversies
This is not the first time Maupay is causing a stir online.
As reported by Football London, the striker trolled Manchester United’s Antony for his antics after his side beat Coventry in the FA Cup semi-final.
Klopp receives emotional farewell tribute from Liverpool fans
FootballIn February, Maupay made enemies with Tottenham players after imitating James Maddison’s goal celebration. Spurs players, however, had the last laugh as the North Londoners came from behind to beat Brentford 3-2 in a fiery London derby.
He also made a permanent enemy of Arsenal fans for famously injuring goalkeeper Bernd Leno in June 2020.
