Manchester United Urged to Swap Striker Højlund for Napoli Star Osimhen

Manchester United have been offered a cheaper option to sign Victor Osimhen as the Red Devils continue their push to sign the Napoli striker next summer.

The English Premier League giants are one of the top clubs interested in signing the 25-year-old striker this summer but they will have to contend with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain for his signature.

According to the Daily Post, Italian agent, Andrea D’Amico, has urged Manchester United to offer struggling striker Rasmus Højlund in a swap deal to sign Osimhen from Napoli.

“Osimhen-Hojlund exchange with United? It’s feasible, Manchester United respects the characteristics where Osimhen could play, in short, it’s a plausible scenario.

“He speaks English, the Premier League is the most important championship in the world. He doesn’t go to Barcelona and Real Madrid and if he doesn’t go to PSG or Bayern either, he will only be left with the Premier League.”

Osimhen has a release clause of €130 million but Manchester United could cut that price in half if Napoli accepts the swap deal for Højlund in the summer.

Meanwhile, Napoli claim they are yet to receive any offer for Osimhen despite numerous interests for the Nigerian striker from top European clubs, Football Italia reports.

The Italian giants are willing to let Osimhen leave this summer and have a clear price in mind, waiting to see his €120-130m release clause activated by any of his suitors when the transfer market opens.

Despite his numerous battles with injuries this season, Osimhen notched up 17 goals in 31 appearances for Napoli this season.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Arsenal has reportedly sent officials to talk with Napoli to negotiate an offer for striker Osimhen, who is linked with Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Gunners are prepared to offer Napoli Brazil international Gabriel Jesus plus cash for the 25-year-old forward’s signature in the summer.

Arsenal are looking for every possible way to reduce Napoli's €120 million price tag on the Nigerian international.
