However, he was poised to avoid defeat in his third final in 2024, starring against the Germans on Wednesday night.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Lookman's second goal came with a bit of wizardry after the Nigerian nutmegged Granit Xhaka before striking home from outside the box.

The former Leicester City forward was unplayable on the night as he dazzled on the flanks, winning the Man of the Match award.

Lookman and his teammates returned to Bergamo on Thursday amid celebrations and excitement with thousands of fans welcoming their heroes.

The Super Eagles star ended the season with 15 goals and eight assists, including five in the Europa League, per Transfermarkt.

The England-born player is expected to join his Nigeria teammates for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June against Benin and South Africa.
