Al-Nassr star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is set to make European history after he was selected in Portugal's squad for Euro 2024.

The veteran forward is part of the 26-man Selecao team named for the summer tournament that kicks off in Germany in June.

BR Football shared the team on social media, featuring several familiar faces, with Roma ace Rui Patricio heading the goalkeeping department.

Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot, Barcelona's Joao Cancelo, and the legendary Pepe make up the defence, while Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Neves top the list of midfielders.

Ronaldo is the biggest name in the attacking line, with the former Man United star set to be joined by the likes of Liverpool's Diogo Jota as well as Joao Felix.

Ronaldo set for European history

According to Sportskeeda, Ronaldo is now in line to become the first player to feature in six different editions of the European tournament.

The forward already holds the record for the most appearances (five), one appearance ahead of Gianluigi Buffon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 39-year-old made his debut in the continental showpiece in 2004 and was a key part of the Portugal team that eventually lost in the final against Greece.

However, he finally managed to lift the title in 2016 when his side beat France 1-0 in the final.

Incredibly, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is also the tournament's all-time top scorer, with 14 goals in 25 Euros appearances.

Ronaldo pays tribute to Kroos

Sports Brief also reported on Cristiano Ronaldo paying a glowing tribute to Real Madrid legend, Toni Kroos, following the veteran's retirement announcement.

The German confirmed on Tuesday, May 21, that he would be hanging up his boots after an illustrious football career with Los Blancos and Bayern Munich.

The 2014 World Cup winner has won multiple trophies in his career, including five Champions League crowns, and could add one more title on June 1.
