Chelsea fans made the same comment moments after it was confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino had left the club.

In a bombshell statement on Tuesday, the Blues announced they had parted ways with the Argentine tactician ‘by mutual consent’.

In a statement, the club confirmed the news but also opted against making further comment until a new head coach was appointed.

Pochettino joined the West Londoners last summer, guiding Chelsea to a sixth-place finish thanks to a late-season revival.

According to talkSPORT, the Argentine opted to leave due to the club not backing his plans ahead of the summer transfer window.

His contract was set to expire next summer.

Social media reaction to Pochettino dismissal

Fans on social media had the same things to say moments after Pochettino’s Chelsea exit was confirmed.

Talks of the 52-year-old’s replacement were rife, with several big names already on the shortlist as potential successors.

One name stood out, and it is someone who knows Stamford Bridge all too well.

A majority of Chelsea fans were keen on a return of Thomas Tuchel to the club, as seen in the tens of thousands of comments about the German on X, formerly Twitter.

@cfcbarny commented:

"In all seriousness, if it’s not Tuchel i don’t want it."

@CFCPys added:

"Thomas Tuchel was waiting for this Chelsea decision on Pochettino. He feels his mission isn’t done at Stamford Bridge."

@CFC_dennoh believes the solution is simple:

"The only replacement we want is Thomas Tuchel . Thank you poch for helping us finish above Manchester United."

@PresenterNoah was adamant:

"It’s not too late to correct our mistakes . Bring Tuchel back to Chelsea."

@OliviaBuzaglo said:

"The only acceptable replacement is Thomas Tuchel."

Chelsea fans are highly favouring Tuchel because of the German's proven track record at the club. In 2021, he famously led the Blues to Champions League glory.

Considered one of the best coaches in the world, the 50-year-old had a disappointing spell with Bayern Munich, who finished in third place in the Bundesliga this season.

According to The Mirror, Tuchel would be open to making a return to Stamford Bridge.

Noni Madueke reacts to Pochettino exit

Despite initially starting games on the bench, the England international earned the former manager's trust as the season wore on.
