Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit, has passionately called for the Gunners to secure the services of Napoli's prolific striker, Victor Osimhen.
Petit's endorsement comes at a crucial juncture for the North London club, having narrowly missed out on the Premier League title in the last two seasons.
A key member of Arsenal's triumphant 1997-98 Premier League-winning squad, the former French midfielder believes that the Super Eagles talisman's physical presence and goal-scoring prowess could be the missing piece in the club's quest to reclaim the domestic crown.
The Nigerian striker has been sensational since his high-profile move to Napoli in 2020, finding the back of the net 76 times in 132 appearances across all competitions.

"I think Arsenal need a 30-goal striker to finally win the Premier League, and that man could be Osimhen. His dream is to come to England, and he could be brilliant here. He's physically strong and is an out-and-out number nine, and he would be my first choice," Petit said, as reported by Goal.
Despite the quality displayed by Mikel Arteta's current squad, the team has struggled to find a consistent and prolific striker to lead the line effectively.
However, he acknowledged that Osimhen may be more inclined to join other top European clubs, such as Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain, due to their financial resources.

Football"I think Osimhen is more likely to move elsewhere - for example, to Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester United, because they simply have more money," Petit said, per Team Talk.
Osimhen among Napoli’s greatest strikers
Sports Brief reported that Osimhen has 76 goals and 18 assists in 131 appearances for Napoli.
This feat places him in 13th on the club's list of all-time scorers list.
The late great Diego Maradona scored 115 goals in 257 appearances and is, without a doubt, the best player to play for the club.
