Ghana defender, Baba Abdul Rahman, has won the Super League Greece with PAOK Thessaloniki.

The 29-year-old starred for PAOK in the final game of the campaign as they beat Aris away to edge giants, Panathinaikos, to the title.

Rahman left Chelsea last summer in pursuit of consistent game time, a move that paid off with the Ghanaian having now won his first league title in Europe.

In a hard-fought game on Sunday, the visitors opened the scoring through Brandon Thomas but the hosts levelled after Loren Moron finished off a brilliant move two minutes into the second half.

Taison sealed victory in the 62nd minute as PAOK were crowned champions of Greece.

Moments after the final game on May 19, the defender posted a message in Greek on social media:

"Glory be to God," his post was translated as saying.

The former Schalke man played a pivotal role for PAOK in their campaign, making 44 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals, and delivering four assists, per Transfermarkt.

Having struggled after joining Chelsea from Augsburg in 2015, Rahman spent most of his time on loan, making only 15 appearances for the Blues before leaving on a permanent deal last year.

The experienced left-back also starred as the Greek side reached the quarter-final of the Europa Conference League.

Three Africans star in PAOK's title triumph

Rahman was joined on the podium by African teammates, William Trost-Ekong and Mbwana Samatta. The Super Eagles captain played a role in the success despite missing the rest of the campaign following his return from the Africa Cup of Nations with injury.

Meanwhile, Tanzania's Samatta was ever-present in the team throughout the campaign, making 44 appearances for the club.

Rahman opens up on collapse during Cup game

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Baba Rahman suffered a horrifying collapse during the Greek Cup semi-final between PAOK and Panathinaikos in February.

The defender fell unconscious after clashing in the air with an opposing player, with medics treating him on the field before he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
