Football fans have had their say, with varying opinions on Cristiano Ronaldo's assessment of Arsenal's Premier League ambitions.

Ronaldo, present as a VIP guest at the historic Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk bout, delivered a blunt prediction regarding the Gunners' chances.

The 39-year-old, renowned for his exploits in the Premier League with Manchester United, believes that Arsenal will fall short in their quest to end their two-decade-long league title drought this season.

Arsenal's tough quest to end EPL drought

According to Al Jazeera, the Gunners head into the final round of fixtures trailing leaders Man City by two points.

For Arsenal to realise their title dreams, Mikel Arteta's men must defeat Everton at the Emirates Stadium while hoping for a favour from West Ham, who would need to either hold City to an unlikely draw or secure a victory against them.

However, the Hammers' track record at the Etihad, with just one win and 15 defeats in 17 Premier League away matches against City, presents a daunting challenge.

Nevertheless, West Ham has shown their ability to upset the odds, defeating Arsenal at their home ground and securing a draw against Liverpool in their previous encounters.

If this trend continues, the London side could play spoiler to Pep Guardiola's aspirations.

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League run-in, Ronaldo light-heartedly aired his thoughts to Frank Warren, a devoted Arsenal supporter, at the Kingdom Arena, dashing Arsenal's title hopes, per beIN Sports.

Fans take on Ronaldo for Arsenal prediction

Cristiano's comments have ignited a significant conversation on social media, with fans expressing divergent views and some subtly teasing him.

@iamhbozz did not take Ronaldo's comment lightly:

"Says someone who hasn’t won a single major trophy in 5 years."

@Avenger20o also aimed a dig at CR7:

"Just like Ronaldo can’t win the World Cup."

@0panaa_1 added:

"Same way, Portugal won’t win euros."

@Ziyechman, on the other hand, agreed with Cristiano:

"I love you, CR7. Please cook those London fr4uds."

@_TheMoroccanLad, who is a dyed-in-the-wool Ronaldo fan, said:

"My goat knows ball."

Probing Arsenal's final day EPL performances

Arsenal's fate in the title race lies beyond their control.

To have any chance of winning the title, they must secure a victory against Everton on Sunday and rely on Manchester City to stumble against West Ham.

Sports Brief examines Arsenal's performance on the final day over the past 12 seasons as they strive to break their 20-year drought for the Premier League title.
