Manchester United forward, Amad Diallo, has shared his excitement after scoring his debut Premier League goal in the victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

The Ivory Coast winger gave United the lead after the break as the Red Devils ended a run of poor results to secure victory at Old Trafford.

Diallo, who limped off during the defeat to Arsenal last Sunday, passed a late fitness test and was handed a starting role in the penultimate game of the campaign.

The exciting youngster blasted home to give the host a 2-1 lead after meeting a poorly cleared header from Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

He posted an emoji on social media to celebrate the moment with teammates Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

The victory enhances United's chances of qualifying for Europe despite a strong late surge from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Diallo, who scored the winner in the FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool will be hoping to win his first title with the club when they face rivals Manchester City in the final.

Erik ten Hag lauds Amad Diallo

After the thrilling encounter at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag praised Diallo, describing him as an amazing player.

"It was a brilliant goal by Amad. You see how young players are developing, like Amad, and I was really pleased with his performance and it was a great goal," said Ten Hag, as quoted by the club's official website.
"He is very good. He has high potential. He is a symbol for the season as he had a bad injury. He fought himself back and had to wait long for his chance and, on Sunday, and also tonight, he was very good," he added.

Man United legends praise Diallo

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester United legends Wayne Rooney, Roy Keane, and Andy Cole have lavished praise on Amad Diallo, after his performance against Newcastle United.

The Ivorian scored a belter as the Red Devils ended their winless run to beat the Magpies 3-2 at Old Trafford.

Having limped against Arsenal on Sunday, the former Atalanta forward passed a late fitness test to make the team for their final home game of the season.
