According to Metro UK, Rashford's struggles have seen him court a wave of criticism from fans and pundits.

The situation has been so dire that the forward was compelled to write an open letter in response to the attacks in February.

At the time, the United academy graduate claimed that there was a sinister reason for the criticism he has had to contend with.

Rashford passionately defended himself in the letter and further reiterated his commitment to the Manchester club.

Rashford confront Manchester United fan

However, the forward has seemingly had enough of the criticism, as he decided to confront a fan during United's clash against Newcastle on Wednesday night.

A video clip doing rounds on social media showed one supporter appearing to hurl insults towards the England international.

The 26-year-old looked directly at the supporter, who was in the stands, before walking over to express his opinion.

The incident came at a time when Rashford is pushing to rediscover his form, having scored just eight times in 40 games in all competitions this season.

He came on as a substitute against the Magpies, and the Red Devils returned to winning ways with a 3-2 win in their last home game of the season.

Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Rasmus Hojlund were all on target for the hosts, while Anthony Gordon and Lewis Hall scored Newcastle's consolation.

Rooney suggests solution for Rashford

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Wayne Rooney sharing his thoughts on Rashford's drastic decline this season.

Concerns over whether Rashford will regain his form from last season exist, and many fans have suggested that the club move him this summer if a suitable offer arrives.
