The Premier League title race will go down to the wire, with Arsenal and Manchester City battling it out for top honours.

The Gunners have pushed Pep Guardiola’s side to the limit, matching the Citizens in most areas this season.

However, in terms of goals scored, the defending league champions still reign supreme, and this is all thanks to their front three.

Erling Haaland has continued his scintillating form in the 2023/2024 season, scoring 25 Premier League goals.

England youngster, Phil Foden, is having his best goal-scoring season in the English top flight with 17 goals, while Haaland’s Argentine counterpart, Julian Alvarez, is not far behind with 11 goals.

The trio leads the line in terms of goals in the Premier League with a combined 53 goals. Sports Brief explores the top teams whose trios are deadly on attack.

10 Premier League teams with best striking trios

Manchester City

As mentioned earlier, City’s front three leads the line with 53 goals. With two games of the season remaining, the tally can only go up.

Cole Palmer has stolen headlines for Chelsea for the majority of the 2023/24 campaign. However, the former Man City youngster is one of three Blues players who collectively have 42 Premier League goals.

Nicolas Jackson’s late-season flurry has seen his tally rise to 14 goals, while the team's other forward, Raheen Sterling, has seven league goals.

The Arsenal trio of Bukayo Saka, Leandro Trossard, and Kai Havertz come in a distant second to Man City with a combined 40 goals.

Saka is the Gunners’ top scorer with 16 goals, while Havertz and Trossard are tied with 12 league goals each in this campaign.

Liverpool once had the most potent front three in Europe with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino.

However, two made the switch from Europe to the Middle East, leaving the Egyptian to cope with new talent up front.

In the 2023/24 season, Salah is still a deadly marksman and has scored 16 goals in the Premier League.

Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota complete the highest-scoring trio in Jurgen Klopp’s squad, with 11 and 10 goals respectively. Together, the trio has 39 goals.

Newcastle United

Newcastle United failed to reciprocate the success from last season, but they have hardly struggled in the goals department.

This is largely down to their potent attackers, Alexander Isak, Anthony Gordon and Callum Wilson. The trio has a combined goal tally of 39 goals, according to Transfermarkt.

Aston Villa

The Villans have defied all odds and have qualified for next season’s Champions League. Unai Emery’s success this season can be attributed to his front three attackers, who have a combined 38 Premier League goals.

Ollie Watkins has impressively bagged 19 goals without penalties, with winger Leon Bailey in second place with 10 goals. Douglas Luiz is the other forward with nine goals.

Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs trio of Son Heung-min, Richarlison, and Delan Kulusevski have a combined Premier League goal tally of 34 goals this season.

Son is expectedly the team’s top scorer with 17 goals, while Richarlison and Kulusevski have 11 and six goals respectively.

The Cherries’ front three of Dominic Solanke, Antoine Semenyo, and Justin Kluivert has proven to be a problem for opposition defences, especially in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

With 34 goals, the trio has a better goal haul than Manchester United’s top three scorers this campaign.

Crystal Palace

Another criminally underrated team this season is Crystal Palace.

Since Oliver Glasner took over from Roy Hodgson as head coach of the Eagles, they have been a force to be reckoned with in the league.

Their front trio of Jean-Philippe Mateta, Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze has 32 goals in the league this season. Olise’s recent form has seen him hit double figures with 10 goals.

West Ham United

The Hammers have had their challenges this season, but attack has not been a major concern.

West Ham's attacking prowess is thanks to their front three - Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and Tomas Soucek - who have scored a combined 30 goals.

5 times Leandro Trossard has saved Arsenal

In coverage related to the Premier League, Sports Brief also previously reported on the five times Leandro Trossard saved Arsenal in all competitions.

The forward has developed a habit of scoring crucial goals for the Gunners this season, with his latest strike enough to seal the win overUnited on May 12.
