Manchester United have reportedly resolved to cancel their end-of-the-season awards dinner.

As a tradition, the Red Devils hold a dinner at the end of every season to take stock of their campaign and reward specific individuals for their outstanding performance.

However, GiveMeSport reports that the club have decided not to hold the ceremony for the 2023/24 season.

The decision comes at a time when the Old Trafford dwellers have endured a frustrating campaign under Erik ten Hag.

United are in danger of missing out on a European football qualification following a disastrous run of results in the Premier League.

Ten Hag's charges have managed just 54 points from the 36 games they have played, with the haul having them sitting eighth in the standings.

United have lost two of their most recent outings, which include a 4-0 humiliation at Crystal Palace last week.

Manchester United cancel awards dinner

According to The Athletic, United have decided they won't be having their awards dinner, which was scheduled for Monday, May 20.

Per the publication, the decision was made due to the club's participation in the FA Cup final, where they will face rivals Manchester City.

The match will be played on Sunday, May 25, at Wembley Stadium and represent United's only chance to end the season with silverware.

The Red Devils still have two more games to play before the 2023/24 Premier League season concludes.

The fixtures include a meeting with Newcastle at Old Trafford and an away game at Brighton on Sunday, May 19.

Manchester United set two unwanted records

In related news, Sports Brief also reported on Manchester United setting two unwanted records following their defeat against Arsenal.

Leandro Trossard's only goal during the match condemned United to defeat.

The Red Devils have managed just 16 wins in 36 Premier League games this season, with the haul leaving them sitting eighth in the standings.
