A supercomputer has predicted the Premier League title winners after Arsenal secured a crucial win over Manchester United on May 12.

The Gunners are the leading contenders for this season's crown alongside reigning champions, Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta's men went back to the summit of the table after they silenced United 1-0 at Old Trafford, with Leandro Trossard scoring the winner.

The North Londoners have now racked up 86 points from 37 games and are only one match away from potentially lifting the title for the first time in two decades.

However, they are facing stiff competition from City, who currently sit second in the standings with 85 points.

The Citizens have a game in hand ahead of the final round of fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, May 19.

Supercomputer predicts Premier League title winners

With only a game to go before the season concludes, a supercomputer has predicted who between Arsenal and Man City could be crowned champions on Sunday.

Per numbers crunched by BETSiE, the reigining English champions are on course to retain the trophy for a historic fourth consecutive season.

Pep Guardiola's men are predicted to end the campaign with 91 points, two points ahead of the Gunners, who are projected to finish second.

Liverpool have been backed to seal a third-place finish in Jurgen Klopp's last season with the club, with Aston Villa all but set to play in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Tottenham would have to contend with a fifth-place finish, with Newcastle and Chelsea predicted to finish in sixth and seventh, respectively.

Arsenal make history at Old Trafford

Earlier, Sports Brief also reported on Arsenal breaking an incredible record set by the Invincibles during their Manchester United trip on Sunday.

The record was set back in the 2003/04 season under Arsene Wenger. At the time, the French managerial legend saw his team unbeaten for that season.
