Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly and Morocco shot-stopper Yassine Bounou have won the Saudi Pro League with Al-Hilal.

The African duo played a pivotal role as the Saudi giants won the league with three games to spare, while also keeping their unbeaten run intact after 31 games.

Both players arrived last summer, with Koulibaly joining from Chelsea as Bounou signed from Sevilla.

The duo started and lasted the entire duration as Al-Hilal walloped Al-Hazm to win the league in style at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.

Aleksandar Mitrović opened the scoring early in the game before Faiz Selemani levelled for Al-Hazm in the first half.

An own-goal from Ahmed Al-Juwaid and quick strikes from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Mitrovvic saw Al-Hilal go into the break with a 4-1 lead.

After the break, both sides failed to score as the Blue Waves secured their 19th league title in front of their fans.

Koulibaly and Bounou's impact in the team has been immense with Al-Hilal conceding only 20 goals in 31 matches.

Koulibaly proud to win Saudi Super Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Senegal defender, Kalidou Koulibaly won his first trophy with Al-Hilal after starring in their victory over Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup final.

The former Chelsea centre-back played an instrumental role as the Saudi League leaders stopped Karim Benzema and his teammates in a 4-1 annihilation in Abu Dhabi.

Brazilian forward Malcom scored twice to add to strikes from Salem Al-Dawsari and Nasser Al-Dawsari with Abderrazak Hamdallah getting the consolation goal for Al-Ittihad.

Al-Hilal to face Al-Nassr in King's Cup final

Sports Brief also reported that Al-Nassr reached the final of Saudi Arabian knockout tournament, the King's Cup, thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo double and a solitary strike from Sadio Mane on Wednesday, May 1.

Following last season's setback in the semi-finals against Al-Wehda, the Knights of Najd were clearly determined to avoid a repeat, notching a convincing 3-1 win over their opponents.

They will now face Al-Hilal in the final of the King's Cup.
