Super Eagles Legend Kanu Picks His Best 2 Arsenal Players This Season
- Kanu Nwankwo believes Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith are the two outstanding Arsenal players this season
- The former Arsenal star added that the club should do everything within its power to prevent the duo from leaving the club
- Arsenal are currently ninth on the table and qualified for the Europa League semi finals in a bid to qualify for Europe next season
The young Gunners have done well in the current Premier League season among the matured players and have cemented their places in Mikel Arteta's starting XI.
Saka has scored seven goals and provided six assists while Smith-Rowie has registered six assists so far in an impression full season at the Emirates.
Speaking exclusively to Ladbrokes at its launch of the 5-A-Side Bet on Arsenal v Everton, the former Super Eagles striker said:
"There are two names which spring to mind as far as Arsenal’s player of the season goes; Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka.
"They offer the team so much through their versatility. Saka can play in so many positions, and when he’s not playing, you can see the side struggles without him.
"Smith-Rowe is a very good player. He can open up games and Arsenal definitely need him to play more in the next few years.
"These two, for me, have been the best players for Arsenal this season – they can’t afford for either of those two players to get injured."
Arsenal's only hopes of playing continental football next season lies in their quest to win the current Europa League competition.
The Gunners are in the semi finals and will face La Liga side Villarreal tutored by former employer Unai Emery.
On the domestic scene, Arteta's men are in ninth position and their hopes of making it in the European places on the Premier League table is in tatters.
