Stanley Nwabali's string of impressive performances since his showing at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast has continued to spark transfer interest from a flurry of clubs.

The 27-year-old, who was one of the breakthrough stars at the biannual showpiece, has been linked with a move away from his Premier Soccer League (PSL) club, Chippa United.

According to swirling reports, Belgian outfit, Union Saint-Gilloise, and English side, Queens Park Rangers, currently fancy the option of signing the shot-stopper.

However, amid these transfer links, a report detailing Chippa United's asking price for the shot-stopper has surfaced.

Chippa United's asking price for Nwabali

According to a report courtesy of Soccernet, the PSL side are eyeing a transfer fee in the region of £1.3 million [₦2.245 billion] before a sale for the goalkeeper will be considered.

The report details that Chippa United CEO, Siviwe Mpengesi, has confirmed that the club is in discussions with other football clubs regarding Nwabali’s future, after the goalkeeper stated that he will not be renewing his contract with the Chilli Boys this summer.

South African football powerhouse, Kaizer Chiefs, were reported to be interested in signing the goalkeeper; however, it appears Amakhosi have backed out of what appeared to be a possible transfer following the asking price set by Chippa United.

It remains to be seen how other clubs interested in the shot-stopper's signature will react to the news of his asking price. However, regardless of how things unfold, it has to be said that the immediate future of Nwabali is one to watch closely.

Finidi prepares Nigeria’s squad

Sports Brief in a previous report stated Nigeria’s coach, Finidi George, has drafted out a team list for the Super Eagles’ upcoming fixtures against South Africa and Benin Republic.

The team list is expected to feature the bulk of the payers who featured for Nigeria at the AFCON, as well as a few new additions to bolster the team.
