Although the rest of the world is yet to celebrate Mother's Day in 2024, people from Spain and other parts of Europe recognise the day on the first Sunday of May.

Ronaldo, who spent most of his career in Madrid, took the opportunity to express his unflinching love for the best woman in his life.

"Happy Mother's Day to the best in the world," he wrote on social media, adding photos of himself and his mother, Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro.
