Bayern Munich star, Jamal Musiala, is the latest player to show his affection for the popular Nigerian delicacy ‘fufu’, during a recent light-hearted interview on How Hungry Are You.

The 21-year-old, who was born in Stuttgart to a Nigerian father, said he grew up knowing a lot about Nigeria and African cultures although he had never been to the continent yet.

According to Punch NG, Musiala declared his love for the famous ‘fufu’ after disclosing his father had prepared it for him while growing up in England.

“I’ve never been to Africa before even though I always wanted to, but we’ve never really had the time to go over there,” Musiala told show host Serge Ibaka.
“My dad is from Nigeria, and he always tells me about the culture and everything about African foods. My dad made fufu while I was growing up back in England; he made this dish (fufu) every other day.”

Musiala, who has won four Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich, has scored two goals in 27 appearances for the German senior national team since making his debut in 2021.

Musiala misses Bayern Munich training

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has been dealt a major blow ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid following an injury scare on Musiala, SB Nation reports.

The 21-year-old midfielder was among several key players including Leroy Sane, Matthijs de Ligt, Leon Goretzka, and Dayot Upamecano who missed the team’s training session on Thursday, May 2.

The German giants would hope to have all players available for the return leg in Madrid on Wednesday, May 9, after being held to an entertaining 2-2 draw in the first game in Munich.

Musiala’s stats compared to Bellingham

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that some football fans believe Musiala is better than Jude Bellingham following Real Madrid's high-stakes UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg tie against Bayern Munich.

While Bellingham struggled to make his mark on the contest, Musiala on the other hand dazzled with an impressive performance, drawing a crucial foul that led to a penalty for the Germans.

The 21-year-old completed five dribbles and won a penalty, one less than the entire Real Madrid team combined.
