"I think if I consider the level of the opponent, the fact that we were not at our best recently here in Cape Town, and the shape of the ground, I think it was really good performance of our players. And very, very important three points, obviously," he said, as reported by iDiski Times.
The Pirates boss reiterated his commitment to the team's long-term development, prioritising the implementation of their football philosophy over immediate results.
He also reminded players and fans that victories are a byproduct of superior gameplay.
Despite recent fluctuations in form, Riveiro remains grounded, accepting both praise and criticism with humility.
While Pirates have showcased their scoring prowess, they are not immune to setbacks, navigating through a mixed bag of results as they progress through the season.
"We need to do it how we want to, playing the football we want to play and everything else is a consequence. We don't play for the result. The results are the consequence of doing things better than the opponent, and, recently, we've managed to do it," he explained, as quoted by Times Live.
