Renowned South African tactician, Pitso Mosimane, is facing a daunting task in Saudi Arabia as he attempts to save Abha FC from relegation.

With only five games left in the Saudi Pro League, the club finds itself in a precarious position, sitting 17th on the log with just 25 points, two shy of safety.

Mosimane's mission is to steer the club away from danger and secure its spot in the top flight next season.

Despite the immense pressure of securing the club's survival, Mosimane finds himself in the midst of rumours linking him to various managerial positions.

Last week, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) seemed close to announcing the successor to Jose Peseiro's successor. As reported by The Cable, the Portuguese's contract ran out after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Mosimane's name has been tossed into the hat for the Super Eagles coaching role, alongside contenders Emmanuel Amunike and Finidi George.

During a recent encounter in Najiran, Saudi, Nigerian football journalist Oma Akatugba, jokingly asked the 56-year-old to take over Nigeria, to which the coach responded with playful banter.

“We want you in Nigeria,” Akatugba joked with Mosimane, to which the 56-year-old cheekily replied, “You can’t afford me,” as seen on his Instagram Page.

The pressure mounts as he guides Abha through their remaining fixtures, including a crucial match against league leaders Al Hilal. Their survival hopes are pinned on performances at the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium, backed by fervent local support.

For Mosimane, time is of the essence as he races against the clock to avert relegation, reminiscent of his previous Saudi Arabian challenge with Al-Ahli.

Domestic staff files lawsuit against Mosimane

Sports Brief reported that Mosimane was sued for millions by his former domestic worker following a severe injury sustained while on duty.

Dorothy Sikirivao has filed a lawsuit in the Johannesburg High Court, demanding redress.

The coach and his wife, Moira Tlhagale, initially paid her medical bills but stopped without providing a reason.
