Incoming Liverpool boss Arne Slot has been compared to fellow Dutch manager Erik ten Hag by a former player who played for both in the Eredivisie.
Jurgen Klopp will leave Liverpool in the summer after admitting he is running out of energy after nine successful years in charge.
Slot declared public interest in taking the job at Anfield after reports circulated of the Reds' interest after initially speaking to Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim.
According to The Times, Feyenoord will receive a compensation fee of £9.4m for the 45-year-old and his backroom staff to replace Klopp next season.

Arne Slot vs Ten Hag
There will be two top Dutch managers in the Premier League next season unless Ten Hag doesn't keep his job and is shown the exit door by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Former player Mark Diemers has compared both managers and explained where the incoming Liverpool boss stands out above his North West colleague.
“I choose Arne Slot. I can only talk from my time. I found Ten Hag insanely good tactically, and so were his training sessions. I just didn't think he was very good, at that time, on a human level. But that was already six or seven years ago. I thought Slot was a lot stronger on a human level,” he told ESPN Netherlands.
“Look at what kind of clubs [Ten Hag] has worked at, so he must also have qualities on a human level. I still have contact with him via WhatsApp. Then he also comes across as very friendly to me. He will undoubtedly have grown on a human level as well.”
Erik ten Hag walks out of press conference after question on Man United's worst season
FootballThe Man Utd boss' future is still being determined, and the confirmation that United can no longer qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season after yesterday's draw against Burnley makes it even more complicated.
Last 5 Eredivisie winning managers
Sports Brief analysed the last five Eredivisie-winning managers and how they fared outside of the Dutch league after Liverpool reached an agreement to hire Slot.
It becomes more dicey that Slot, as a player and manager, has never worked outside of the Netherlands, and England is set to be his first job outside of his home country.
