President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe, has addressed the issue between his outfit and Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o.
Eto'o, who currently heads the Cameroonian Football Federation, has accused CAF of defamation after investigations were opened into allegations of corruption at FECAFOOT.
While Eto'o's legal team have reported CAF to FIFA, Dr Motsepe disclosed that the continent's football governing body is acting according to the ethics of the confederation.
The South African billionaire also stated his respect for the legendary African footballer but insists nobody is above the law.

“You have to know how to separate things. On the one hand, Samuel Eto’o, from my point of view, will always be a football player we are very proud of, who was among the most talented and I will continue to be proud of what he managed to do on the field," he told France 24 in an interview.
“However, we must also consider these allegations not only in relation to Samuel Eto’o but in relation to others critical," he added.
Eto'o has been confronted with several challenges since taking over as head of the federation, with members of FECAFOOT calling for his sack over allegations of mismanagement.
Dr Motsepe continued: “From the point of view of CAF, we must investigate each complaint, each accusation, each allegation. We must do it ethically in accordance with global principles, namely the presumption of innocence, but it is of absolutely critical importance… It’s not just about football.”

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that FECAFOOT boss Samuel Eto'o was absent at the unveiling of new Indomitable Lions coach, Marc Brys.
The Belgium trainer arrived in Yaoundé early this month to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the five-time African champions.
At a brief meeting held by Cameroon's Sports Minister, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Brys and his technical team were tasked to qualify the country to the 2026 World Cup and also ensure a successful Africa Cup of Nations in 2025.
