Chelsea legend John Terry was reduced to tears after he received a congratulatory message from Jose Mourinho after he was inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

Terry, who enjoyed an illustrious Premier League career with the Blues, was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame on Monday.

Speaking in a video shared on X, Mourinho congratulated the legendary defender for the achievement, adding that this would be a great gesture for his kids.

“And now it is, has to be. I believe that for your kids, it is something really fantastic,” The Special said in the video.
“For me as one of the guys that had the privilege to work with you for about six seasons, I am very happy, I am very proud” Mourinho added.

Jose Mourinho put it clear that John Terry had a stellar career in the game, and said that he was so proud of him and all the achievements he had during his active career.

Terry gets emotional after Mourinho's message

While watching the video from Mourinho, Terry, who seemed really emotional, appreciated the nice work from his former boss, admitting that he owed him a lot.

“I think I owe him, you know, a huge amount for my career and the kind of direction it went in,” the former England international said.

Terry could not hold back his tears, as he went ahead to remember how the no-nonsense Mourinho made him push to greater heights because he believed so much in him.

Describing how he still scares him to date, Terry said that Mourinho played a big role in shaping his career.

The ex-defender made his debut at Chelsea in 1998.

Mourinho names players he enjoyed coaching

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mourinho naming eight players he enjoyed coaching the most during his career.

The Portuguese has enjoyed a largely successful managerial journey that has seen him coach world-class players at top clubs.
