Manchester United survived a huge scare to qualify for the FA Cup final at the expense of Coventry City at Wembley Stadium on April 21.

The Championship side rallied from three goals down to equalise proceedings in the last 20 minutes of the contest, forcing extra time and, subsequently, post-match shoot-outs.

It was another collapse of epic proportions in Erik ten Hag's underwhelming season, but he saved face in the penalties to qualify for the final.

Coventry City would have won it in the last minute of extra time were it not for a marginal offside call on Haji Wright to deny Victor Torp. The Sky Blues celebrated wildly, only for the Video Assistant Referee to step in and disallow the goal.

Manchester United fans rush back to Wembley

As Torp and the rest of his teammates celebrated, a section of Manchester United fans started streaming out of the stadium, thinking they had lost the game.

New footage now shows how the fans quickly made a U-turn back to the stadium after they received information that the late winner for Mark Robbins' side wasn't going to stand.

The Red Devils shootout started on a sour note after Casemiro's effort was saved, but Coventry failed to hold on to their advantage.

Andre Onana saved Callum O'Hare's effort, while skipper, Ben Sheaf, fired his effort over the bar to allow Rasmus Hojlund to win the game for United.

The 2024 FA Cup final will be a repeat of last season's final, where Manchester City triumphed on their way to winning the treble.

Why Onana wasn't red-carded despite receiving two yellow cards

Sports Brief has also reported why Andre Onana wasn't sent off despite getting two yellow cards in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

The keeper's first yellow card came in the closing stages of the game for time wastage, while the other one came during a penalty shootout.

The Cameroon shot-stopper saved Callum O'Hare's penalty to help his side qualify for the finals but fans have asked why he was not red-carded.
