Jude Bellingham has singled out Real Madrid teammate, Lucas Vazquez, after his side pipped Barcelona in the second installment of El Clasico in La Liga on Sunday.

The Englishman scored the winning goal in stoppage time as Los Blancos inched closer to the league title with a 3-2 win against their bitterest Spanish rivals.

Bellingham steals the show in El Clasico showdown

While Los Blancos had the last laugh in the tie, La Blaugrana drew first blood at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium when Andreas Christensen scored his first La Liga goal since April last year to silence un the home crowd, as noted by The Standard.

Vinicius Junior made sure the lead lasted for just 12 minutes when he scored from the penalty spot to level the score.

There was some controversy when Barca thought they had restored their lead through teen sensation, Lamine Yamal, but the referee scratched it off without the aid of goal-line technology after claiming the ball had crossed the line, Eurosport reports.

Regardless, Fermin Lopez scored with barely 20 minutes left on the clock, but just as in the first half, Real Madrid rallied back, with Lucas scoring the equaliser.

The Spaniard, who was playing in a makeshift right-back role, then turned provider in stoppage time by delivering a tailor-measured cross, which was slammed home by Bellingham for the winner.

It was the former Borussia Dortmund star's third goal in as many games played against Barca this season.

Bellingham salutes Lucas Vazquez

After the game, the 20-year-old, who has risen to the summit in the 2024 Ballon d'Or ranking, recognised the role of Vazquez in scoring the match-winner.

He took to social media to passionately celebrate his teammate for his stunning display.

"Lucas Vazquez, you [expletive] legend," Bellingham wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
