A fuming Pep Guardiola went on a lengthy rant live on just moments after his side secured a ticket to the FA Cup final on Saturday, April 20.

Guardiola was angry at the fact that his team was made to play in another competition, barely 72 hours after featuring in the Champions League.

City agonizingly lost to Real Madrid via penalties on Wednesday, April 17 as their hopes of winning a second successive treble were brought to a halt.

The Cityzens’ game against Chelsea was then played three days later, while the other semi-final involving Manchester United and Coventry will be played on Sunday, something Guardiola labelled as ‘unacceptable’.

“It’s really unacceptable that Coventry, United and Chelsea don’t play in the week and they let us play today,” Guardiola raged, as quoted by The Mirror.
"Why not give us one more day? It’s impossible, for the health of the players. It is not normal, honestly it’s not normal.
“It’s common sense. I’m not asking for a special privilege. But I want to protect my players. We started in conditions that were a risk for injuries and health.

The Spaniard went on to decry about the health of players which he insists should come as a priority despite the importance of England's oldest competition.

Guardiola further threatened to not partake in broadcasters’ activities because of the hefty fixture schedule.

City knock out Chelsea

Despite his players being handed just 72 hours to recover from playing 120 minutes of Champions League football, City somehow beat their bitter cup rivals Chelsea 1-0 thanks to Bernardo Silva’s 84th-minuteth strike.

The game could have gone differently had the Blues been more clinical up front.

Why Haaland did not play vs Chelsea

Sports Brief also reported why Erling Haaland did not feature in the FA Cup semi final against Chelsea.

Guardiola confirmed the Norwegian was a major doubt for his team, as he was struggling with a muscle issue.

Haaland asked to come off during the Champions League clash against Real Madrid after playing for 90 minutes.
