Esperance of Tunisia head coach, Miguel Cardoso, has stated that he has worked out plans to contain Mamelodi Sundown's threats when they meet on Saturday evening.

Both sides face off in the CAF Champions League semi-final, with the first leg, slated for Tunisia on April 20.

Esperance are aiming to reach their ninth final, a feat they achieved in 2019 when they defended their title successfully.

But they face a very strong opposition in Masandawana as the South African side have only conceded one goal so far in this year's tournament.

Statistics have shown that both Esperance and Sundowns have kept nine clean sheets in 10 CAFCL games this season.

Cardoso says his side is ready for the game, having prepared well for the South African heavyweights.

He said, as per iDiski Times:

“We’ve come a long way to get here, and now it’s the moment of truth.
“It’s an important meeting for the club, and it is our duty, players, staff and public, to be present and give everything.
“It’s simple, every coach and every player dreams of playing such a match in their career. It’s good to be there, but the most important thing is to succeed and take this step.
“We have a plan in place to counter the opponent and to develop our game. The team has a good mindset and is prepared to excel.”

Sports Brief earlier reported that Springboks skipper Siya Kolisi has shared an inspiring message with Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their CAF Champions League semi-final.

Rhulani Mokwena's side have arrived in Tunis for the first leg against Esperance of Tunisia slated for Saturday evening.

Ahead of the encounter, Masandawana received a support message from Kolisi who shared a clip from his base in France.
