Brazilian football superstar, Kaka, has debunked rumours that his ex-wife separated from him for being 'too perfect'.

The social media space has been awash with reports that Caroline Celico stated that 'something was missing' and she had to walk out of the union.

Kaka married his childhood sweetheart in 2015 during his time with Italian club, AC Milan, splitting after a decade with a son and a daughter together.

Amid the trending report, the former footballer has shared his version of what transpired in their marriage before the pair parted ways.

He claimed that Celico decided that she wanted to return to Brazil, saying she was simply unhappy with the marriage.

Kaka said per Spanish outlet, Sport, via PM News:

"In 2015, I was married, and my wife at the time decided she didn’t want to be married anymore. She said, 'I'm not happy and I attribute my unhappiness to marriage'.

The former Real Madrid star said they were living in America at the time and she wanted to return home.

"Her words were, 'I want to go back to Brazil, I want to live there and I don’t want to be married anymore'.

"I did everything I could to prevent the divorce from happening, because that’s where the Christians conflict."

Meanwhile, the 41-year-old has since moved on, announcing his engagement to Carolina Dias this year.

The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder is believed to have been in a relationship with the Brazilian model since 2017.
