Egyptian Premier League leaders, Pyramids FC, have expressed keen interest in acquiring the services of Stephane Aziz Ki.

The midfielder's contract with Tanzanian reigning league champions, Young Africans, reportedly expires in June.

The 28-year-old has been a standout performer this season, boasting an impressive tally of 21 goal contributions in the league, with 14 goals and seven assists.

He currently leads the scoring charts in the NBC Premier League.

Noteworthy is Aziz Ki's pivotal role in guiding Yanga to the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League, with four goal contributions, including two goals and two assists.

The Tanzanian champions were embroiled in a heated moment with Mauritius referee Dahane Beida, believing they had scored a crucial goal.

He thought he had given his side the dead against Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-final second leg after his strike seemed to cross the goal line before it bounced back into Ronwen Williams' arms.

Competition for the midfielder's signature is fierce, with Zamalek SC, Al Ahly SC, Raja Athletic Club, and Orlando Pirates also reportedly expressing interest.

Negotiations are said to be underway, with the Burkina Faso international's representatives seeking a signing-on fee of $300,000 (R5.7 million), as reported by iDiski Times.

All eyes will be on Aziz Ki in the upcoming weekend clash against rivals Simba SC in the Kariakoo Derby at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. The outcome of this highly anticipated match could significantly influence the title race, with Yanga currently sitting atop the standings with 55 points from 21 games, while Simba SC trails behind in third place with 46 points, as reported by the Citizen.

Yanga lodge complaint over Sundowns fixture

Sports Brief reported that Yanga officially lodged a complaint to CAF after the defeat to the Brazilians.

The DStv Premiership Champions won 3-2 on penalties after the two-legged tie ended 0-0.

While Sundowns won the shootout fair and square, many felt they should have lost the game before the match went to penalties.
