The trio of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. failed to live up to expectations during their two seasons together at Paris Saint-Germain.
Mbappe and Neymar have been at the club since 2017. The Brazilian arrived for a world record €222m from Barcelona, while the Frenchman was signed on an initial loan from Monaco.
The duo helped PSG to the 2020 UEFA Champions League final under manager Thomas Tuchel but lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, thanks to Kingsley Coman's only goal.
Messi joined them after surprisingly leaving Barcelona in 2021 after the Spanish club could not register his new contract, bringing an end to his 21 years at the club.

How PSG trio fell out
The trio had high expectations placed on them but ultimately failed to deliver beyond the basics of winning the French title, and this has been linked to the issues among them.
Per L'Equipe, a PSG employee, explained what transpired that led to the clash of egos and personality, which hindered the club's success despite the talent of their forwards.
“At first, Kylian Mbappé liked Neymar a lot, but after working with him daily, he lost the respect he had for him. Conversely, both Neymar and Messi were upset that the club had given Kylian the full keys to the truck,” he said.
“Messi, even if he were introverted, he would at least say hello to you. Not Neymar. You got the impression he didn’t respect you. He refused to make contact.”
According to Canal Supporters, Neymar credited Mbappe with helping him settle in France and teaching him the French mentality before things went sour among them.
