Paris Saint-Germain are putting themselves in a bad light ahead of their crunch UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Barcelona on Wednesday.

PSG drew 1-1 with bottom-placed Clermont Foot with a rested squad, and it took Kylian Mbappe coming off the bench to provide the equalising assist for Goncalo Ramos to rescue a point.

The champions are 10 points clear at the top of the table with six games left to go in the French Ligue 1 season, despite the disappointing draw against the relegation-threatened team.

Mbappe and Enrique's heated argument

Mbappe understandably played a few minutes of the game, with the Champions League match against Barcelona in midweek in sight, to avoid the risk of injury.

As Canal+ spotted, the number 7 and manager Luis Enrique were seen in a heated argument on the pitch. The player gesticulated towards the manager while he responded, covering his mouth.

The relationship between the player and the club has strained since the news broke that he will not renew his contract, which will expire at the season's end.

He has started a number of games off the bench and while the former Barca manager has not confirmed the departure, his comments have suggested they are preparing for life without him.

Per Goal, the French national team captain was substituted at halftime against his former side, Monaco. Instead of sitting on the bench, he went to the stands, a situation which attracted criticism on social media.

Multiple reports in the media claim he will be a Real Madrid player, with many claiming a contract has already been signed.

Five players who could replace Mbappe

Sports Brief previously analysed five Mbappe replacements PSG can sign. The winger is set to leave the club after seven years and join European giants Madrid.

The club already have a list of possible replacements, including Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, whom they've had on their radar for about two years.
