As noted by News24, Sundowns survived a scare against AmaTuks to book their place in the semi-final of the tournament.

Ronwen Williams saved two penalties in the shootout as Sundowns secured a 4-3 win.

Sundowns’ quest for a quadruple

Having already won the African Football League earlier this season, Masandawana are still in the running for three other titles. With their progression in the Nedbank Cup, Sundowns now turn their attention to the DStv Premiership.

The Brazilians will take on Moroka Swallows in the league before turning their attention to the CAF Champions League. Sundowns have a 13-point lead over Stellenbosch United in the league, and have two games in hand.

Rulani Mokwena's squad are on course to retain the title and break a few more records in the process.

Sundowns' next game against Swallows will take place on Monday, April 15, to allow Sundowns time to prepare for their game against Esperance de Tunis.

Sundowns’ CAF Champions League fixture

The Brazilians will travel to Tunisia for their next continental game as they take on Esperance in the first leg.

A win in the two-legged tie will see them not only progress to the final, but also secure their spot in next year’s FIFA Club World Cup.

They could also face off against Al Ahly in the final, a team they share a rivalry with.
