Boniface speaks after West Ham goal

Speaking to the media following the conclusion of the game, the Nigerian forward expressed his delight at being back on the scoresheet and his hunger to make up for the time he missed due to injury.

"I feel happy, you know. It's not easy, considering I was out for about three months. I missed a lot of games, so coming back to help my team means a lot, and I'm really happy to be playing football again.
"I'm looking forward to helping my team whenever I'm called upon. We have a big game on Sunday, so we're looking forward to that," the former Union Saint-Gilloise player said, as captured by Soccernet.

The Nigerian forward will hope he can maintain his form as Leverkusen aims to be crowned Bundesliga champions for the first time when they face off against Werder Bremen.

Boniface, who has been limited to a string of substitute appearances since his return, will also be eyeing the prospect of starting his first game since December 17.

Boniface among Nigeria’s most improved players

In another report, Sports Brief stated that Bayer Leverkusen's Boniface is among Nigeria's most improved players of the 2023/24 season.

The list features a number of impressive performers this season, such as Udinese shot-stopper, Maduka Okoye, and Montpellier forward, Akor Adams.
