West Ham United manager, David Moyes, has reiterated the importance of Ghanaian midfielder, Mohammed Kudus, to his team ahead of their Europa League clash against the unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen.

The 23-year-old has settled in incredibly well since moving to England to join West Ham in the summer transfer window.

Kudus has been one of the best players in the Europa League, scoring four goals in seven games including a Messi-like strike in the match against Freiburg.

Moyes is amazed by the quick adaptation of the Ghanaian in the Premier League and sees him as part of his plans for the future.

"Mohammed Kudus is not just important for this tie tomorrow, but he's been important for us all season," he said in the pre-match presser against Leverkusen, as quoted by the club's official website.
"He will be important for us going forward in the future as well. He's a young boy who has only just come into the Premier League and he's settled in incredibly well," he added.

Moyes also believes Kudus' journey from Ghana to Denmark and the Netherlands has helped shape his career.

"It's not easy to start well in the Premier League, and a lot of the players who come from overseas find it quite difficult, but I think Mo, though, because of the experience he's had - in Denmark, the Netherlands and now the Premier League - it has given him a better coverage of different leagues," he said.
"We're really enjoying the way he is playing for West Ham; I think he has a lot of development to come in the future and he's settling in nicely here."

Kudus has scored 13 goals across all competitions for the Hammers this season, per Transfermarkt.

Kudus tipped to win APOTY

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Former Mali forward, Frederic Kanoute tipped Mohammed Kudus to win the Africa Player of the Year award.

The 23-year-old has taken the English Premier League by storm in just his first season, starring for West Ham United in the ongoing campaign.

Kudus has already netted 13 goals across all competitions, with seven in the Premier League as West Ham continue their pursuit of a European place finish.
