It’s not easy being Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Al Nassr star made headlines for all the wrong reasons yet again on Monday, April 8, after he was sent off for violent conduct during the Saudi Cup game against bitter rivals Al Hilal.
In the closing stages of the game and with Al Nassr trailing 2-0, Ronaldo clashed with Al Hilal player Al Bulaihi, and a melee ensued soon after.
Videos of the incident appeared to show the Real Madrid legend squaring up to Al-Bulaihi after the Al Hilal player prevented him from taking a quick throw-in late on.

Ronaldo then appeared to throw an elbow at the defender, who dramatically sprawled on the floor, prompting players from both teams to get involved. It however remains unclear whether Ronaldo made contact with his rival before he went to the ground, according to ESPN.
Ronaldo taunted with Messi chants
With both sets of players clashing with each other, Ronaldo could only watch from the side, but the 39-year-old got involved when Mohammed Al-Hoaish brandished a red card to send him off.
Incensed by the decision, Ronaldo made a motion that suggested he was going to throw a punch, before backing down, presumably realizing the potential repercussions his action would have had.
A fan video has since emerged showing the incident from an Al Hilal supporter’s point of view.
In the video, fans resorted to “Messi, Messi” chants immediately Ronaldo was shown a red card in an attempt to wind up the already angered Al Nassr star.

This is not the first time Ronaldo has been taunted with his arch-rival Lionel Messi’s name.

Ronaldo had to keep his cool, as he was coming from a suspension for making an offensive gesture.
