  • Victor Osimhen’s goal versus Monza has been tagged as one of his best
  • The Napoli striker powered high to net Napoli’s equaliser over the weekend
  • Osimhen's goal against Monza was his 12th in Serie A this season

Victor Osimhen’s goal against Monza was arguably the highlight of Napoli’s incredible victory against the newly promoted Italian side on Saturday, April 6.

The Parthenopei cruised to a comfortable 4-2 victory after goals from Osimhen, Matteo Politano, Piotr Zielinski, and Giancomo Raspadori ensured they kept alive their hopes to qualify for Europe next season.

According to Soccernet, Osimhen is reported to have jumped 2.23 meters, although this fell short of his previous record-setting leap of 2.58 meters during Napoli’s win over Spezia.

The Super Eagles striker rose high to meet Frank Anguissa’s precise cross, powering a header into the left side of the net, a goal that has been widely celebrated by all his admirers including Didier Drogba.

Osimhen’s goal against Monza took his total tally in Serie A to 12 goals for the season, as he aims to continue his good form after battling with injuries this campaign.

Comparing Osimhen’s header to Ronaldo’s

Meanwhile, Osimhen’s incredible header at a height of 2.23 meters against Monza falls slightly short of the record held by five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo set in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Declan Herald, Ronaldo’s highest jump was measured at a mind-boggling 2.93m when he netted a header for Real Madrid in the UCL 2012/13 campaign against his former club Manchester United.

Last season, Osimhen made headlines by surpassing Ronaldo's jump record in Serie A, reaching an astounding height of 2.58 meters to score a crucial goal against Spezia.

Didier Drogba Praises Victor Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Chelsea striker and Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba, lavished praise on Osimhen's goal against Monza, who described it as an ‘absurd goal.’

This glowing commendation from the Ivorian legend underscores the quality of the goal scored by the standout Napoli forward.

Osimhen's header stole the spotlight, drawing praise from various quarters for his remarkable effort that ended his barren spell of 400 minutes without a goal in Serie A.
