"Players and officials of the Nigeria U15 team, Future Eagles, have been denied visas by the Spanish Embassy and will therefore not be travelling to take part in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament starting on Friday."
The announcement has left Nigerians fuming alleging that there could be more to such a decision as per ICIR. A fan replied:
"There is more to this , Spain can't just deny Nigeria u15 national team visa for a tournament that was organise by UEFA."
Another added:
"This is an embarrassment to the country, the people managing the affairs in the glass should be sacked."
One said:
"If only other African countries can say they won’t go if they don’t give Nigerians visa. Let them go and play their football."
Another X user suggested:
"I believe they have concrete evidence for that because FIFA has rules and the embassy has no right to do so. Ask the U15 team what really happened."
One wrote:
"This is an embarrassment to our dear country. Spanish ambassador should be summoned by the presidency to come and explain the reasons for the denials."
