Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus bravely defended his goal-scoring record as he claimed it was unfair to compare him to Bayern Munich marksman Harry Kane.
Kane is leading in goal contributions across Europe with a combined 50 goals and assists, and he is likely to add more to his tally when Bayern visit the Emirates on Tuesday, April 9.
This will be the first time Kane returns to North London since his famous move to the Bundesliga giants last summer.
While in Germany, Spurs’ all-time goal scorer has continued his red-hot form with 38 goals across all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.

This is nearly five times Jesus’ goal haul for Arsenal this season, as the Brazilian has only found the net eight times in the 2023-24 campaign.
To be fair to Jesus, he has often been deployed on the wing by Mikel Arteta, who has often preferred to play Kai Havertz as a false 9.
Jesus defends his goal record
Ahead of the Tuesday clash against Bayern, the Arsenal striker addressed comparisons to Kane, whom he dubbed the best finisher in the world.
“Everyone here knows the quality of Harry Kane - for me, personally, he is the best finisher in the world,” he said. “But it is not just Harry Kane - they have players like my old friend Sane, Musiala, Coman, Muller, Gnabry. They have quality players there.”
On his torrid goal record, the 27-year-old added:
“Not many people want to look at the game like that. I have played this season maybe 40 per cent on the wing.

In a show of class, the Brazilian made it clear he was ready to put his ego aside to aid his team go all the way domestically and in the Champions League.
Regardless of the faith in his team, Jesus insists there are no favourites for the tie.
How Arsenal compares to Bayern
Arsenal are top of the Premier League table after their 3-0 win over Brighton on Saturday.
For Bayern, their pursuit of a 12th consecutive title is effectively over after losing a second game in a row on Saturday against newly-promoted Heidenheim.
Regardless, Jesus refuses to rule out the Bavarians’ threat.
“Everyone knows the quality of the club, the amazing quality of the players. It doesn’t matter if they struggled, they are still Bayern and they can hurt us.

FootballArsenal warns their supporters
Elsewhere, Sports Brief reported on Arsenal’s stern warning to the club supporters after Bayern fans were banned from the Emirates.
The sanction was imposed on the German giants after unsavoury scenes in the previous round, where unscrupulous fans threw fireworks onto the pitch during the 3-1 win over Lazio.
Bayern have been previously slapped with a one-match ban and fined £34,000 fine over a similar incident in October 2023 when fans set off fireworks during their game against Copenhagen.
