Following the midfielder's performance, his Bundesliga compatriot Boniface playfully teased him for supposedly ignoring his calls after scoring two goals.

"You don score 2 now, you no dey pick call na M-O-N," Boniface jokingly remarked on his Instagram stories, as reported by Pooja Media.

The match saw the hosts take an early lead in the third minute through Brandon Mechele's header after a well-taken set piece. Despite missed opportunities, Brugge maintained their dominance, with Onyedika sealing the win with goals in the 61st and 89th minute.

Although Anderlecht attempted a comeback, pulling a goal back through Anders Dreyer, it was not enough to thwart Club Brugge's victory.

Reflecting on his performance, Onyedika expressed his satisfaction with being named Man of the Match but stressed the team's collective effort in securing the win. He expressed his desire to continue scoring goals and credited his confidence on the pitch for his successful performance.

“I’ve had a number of fine games so far this season, and I have always kept working hard, but the two goals today really highlighted today’s performance. I’m just really happy that I have been able to help out the team today," he said, as quoted by Daily Post Nigeria.

Premier League clubs set to battle Onyedika

Sports Brief reported that many Premier League clubs are keen to compete with Galatasaray for Onyedika's signature.

According to a report, the versatile midfielder is attracting interest from several clubs, including Everton, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest.

He is expected to command fees estimated at €15mil.
