In a clear sign of their intent to secure the service of the Nigerian forward, the Blues have reportedly made a transfer offer for Osimhen ahead of the summer window.
Chelsea’s bid for Osimhen
According to a report from media outlet, Napoli Magazine, the Premier League side have submitted a player-plus-cash offer for the Super Eagles forward.
The report states the London club offered Romelu Lukaku plus cash - enough to match Napoli's estimated €130 million valuation of the forward.
However, it has been reported the Partenopei have rejected this transfer offer from Chelsea, stressing the club would prefer a straight cash deal if they were to consider selling their forward, largely due to the transfer windfall a sale of Osimhen would generate.
The report highlights that the English side is not backing down and is looking to facilitate the Nigerian ace's transfer by adding another forward, Armando Broja, to the deal.
It remains uncertain how the Napoli hierarchy will respond to this latest contract offering.
It is worth noting that Osimhen has scored 14 goals so far this season, according to data from Fotmob, a significant decrease from his previous impressive performances.

FootballOsimhen’s struggles frustrate Napoli fans
Sports Brief earlier reported that Osimhen struggled against Atalanta recently, failing to threaten the defence and also receiving a booking for his efforts.
Napoli supporters expressed frustration by booing the team and social media users criticised the Nigerian striker for his lacklustre performance in the match.
Some are concerned that Osimhen is losing value due to the club's poor performances, while others feel he is the one dragging the Serie A champions down.
