  • Raheem Sterling is having a difficult season at Chelsea

Raheem Sterling is having a difficult season at Chelsea, but a video from his youth days suggests he is a baller, and the fans should not give up on the experienced winger.

Sterling joined Chelsea in the summer of 2022 after leaving Manchester City, but his performances have yet to produce the desired effect the fans expected of him.

The Blues have gotten tired of his lacklustre performances and booed him off the pitch when he was substituted for Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk in the 4-2 win over Leicester.

Despite his poor form, he has scored eight goals and provided 10 assists in 36 games this season, numbers bettered only by youngster Cole Palmer, who also joined from City.

Sterling's old video goes viral

Sterling spent most of his developmental years at Queen's Park Rangers before moving to Liverpool, where he had his first taste of professional football.

A video is going viral on social media of the young Sterling entertaining his teammates with brilliant ball skills and receiving applause for being a baller.

Chelsea fans won't pay much attention to that as they have had enough. According to Football London, the 29-year-old is one of the players the club transfer listed for a summer sale, with Saudi Arabia most likely coming to their aid again.

The Athletic reported that the English forward of Jamaican descent is not interested in a move away and is ready to stay and fight for his place in the team.

Per Caught Offside, the fans are not the only ones having issues with the England international. Former Liverpool director Stuart Webber made a racially insensitive statement, claiming some black players would be in jail if not for football.

Why Chelsea fans turned on Pochettino

Sports Brief analysed why Chelsea fans turned on Mauricio Pochettino despite their recent 4-2 win over Leicester in the FA Cup to reach the semi-final at Wembley.

A notable reason was Sterling always retaining his place in the team regardless of his performance, while Mudryk and Noni Madueke were given fewer opportunities.
