Cole Palmer maximised on a Jordan Pickford mistake to score a long-range goal in the Premier League on Monday, April 15.

Palmer needed only 29 minutes to pile misery on Everton, who came into the game on the back of a two-point deduction. His first goal was a beautiful curler from the edge of the penalty area before he headed in a rebound.

Apart from precision and insane vision, scoring from way out usually requires a player to instantly notice that a goalkeeper is not on his line before finishing the perfect strike to nestle into the back of the net.

After that Palmer goal, Sports Brief brings you a list of some of the other long-range efforts in the Premier League over the years.

Best long-range goals in the Premier League

1. Bruno Fernandes - Manchetser United vs Liverpool(2024)

Bruno Fernandes scored one of the best goals of the 2023/2024 season when he chipped Liverpool's goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from the halfway line on April 7.

Fernandes' ridiculous strike restored parity for Manchester United in the Old Trafford contest, cancelling out Luis Diaz's opening goal in the first half.

2. Wayne Rooney - West Ham vs Manchester United (2014)

Wayne Rooney scored many memorable goals for Manchester United over the years. Top of the list is his acrobatic effort against Manchester City, unarguably, but many people will have this long-range strike vs West Ham in 2014 as a close second.

3. Luis Suarez - Liverpool vs Norwich City - 2012

Luis Suarez's goal catalogue for Liverpool is incredible. The Uruguayan took defenders in his stride, scored headers, free-kicks and everything laid on his plate.

But perhaps the best of the bunch was when he caught Norwich City with a 45-yard strike.

4. Edinson Cavani - Manchester United vs Fulham - 2021

Manchester United players seem to have a penchant for such goals. Cavani's career in England never hit the same heights it did in other countries, but he had a couple of highs.

A beautiful flick from Fernandes from a David de Gea goal-kick allowed Cavani to spot Alphonse Areola off his line. He attempted the ridiculous from 40 yards and it went in.

5. David Luiz - Chelsea vs Fulham - 2013

The goalkeeper wasn't particularly out of his line, but this was down to David Luiz's brilliance and shotpower. Then at Chelsea, Luiz maximised on the extra space he had been afforded in the middle of the pack to send in a shot into the roof of the net from 35 yards out.

6. Stiliyan Petrov - Aston Villa vs Derby County - 2008

The Bulgarian midfielder capitalised on a poor goal-kick from Roy Caroll by chesting the ball down before sending a dipping half-volley back to the Rams net.

7. David Beckham - Manchester United vs Wimbledon - 1996

'Bend it like Beckham' became synonymous with the English star for his ability on dead balls. But in 1996, he pulled out another set of skills when he unleashed a long-range effort from his own half to score against Wimbledon.

Kobbie Mainoo's goal vs Liverpool

In the same game, Sports Brief reported that Kobbie Mainoo received widespread plaudits for his performance against Liverpool.

The soon-to-be 19-year-old fired Manchester United ahead with a beautiful curler inside the area in the 67th minute.
